Pipe compensator, particularly a compensator bridge

Cardan compensators, which are mobile in all directions in a circular plane, are known. The axis of rotation lies in the plane of the centre of the bellows. This compensator does not accept changes in length. The new compensator bridge is intended to transmit torsional moments of the tubes. The bridge for a compensator (1), the said bridge being fastened to a bracket (3), has two straps (4) on one side which transmit the transverse force via a cross-pin (6) and a sliding block (7) to a strap (5) attached on the other side. The bridge is suitable, in particular, for applications where axial movements have additionally to be accepted by the compensator in addition to the transmission of torsional moments. <IMAGE>
