PURPOSE:To apply metal plating on a belt-like body to a thickness uniform over the entire length thereof by winding the belt-like body to form a coil, and disposing the coil into a plating cell in such a manner that the transverse direction of the belt-like body parallels with the flow direction of the plating liquid. CONSTITUTION:Sprocket holes 2 are respectively bored to both ends in the transverse direction of a tape carrier 1 formed with Cu foil 15 to a prescribed pattern. Projections are integrally formed at the same intervals as the intervals of the holes 2 to both ends in the transverse direction of a spacer 3 having the same width as the width of the tape carrier 1. The projections 4 are then fitted to the holes 2 to superpose the tape carrier 1 and the spacer 3 apart at a prescribed spacing therebetween. The carrier 1 and spacer 3 are wound to form the coil A. The coil A is disposed and fixed in a plating cell 6 by directing the transverse direction of the tape carrier 1 to the vertical direction. The plating liquid is passed through a perforated member 10 from a lower inflow port 6a to an upper outflow port 6b by which the tape carrier 1 is applied with the metal plating. The tape carrier is thereby plated uniformly over the entire length thereof. |
