Process for the modification of polyethylene

A process for the modification of polyethylene by granulation of the melt of a mixture of polyethylene with an organosilicon liquid with a monomer unit of the formula <IMAGE> and having a viscosity of from 1 to 100 cPa.s at 20 DEG C, which is used in an amount of from 1 to 10% of the weight of the polyethylene, the melt being subjected, during the granulation, to ultrasound treatment under cavitation conditions at a specific energy of the ultrasound treatment of from 10<5> to 10<6> J/kg.
