A hypodermic syringe (1) (Fig. 1) is used, initially, for the separate storage and, subsequently, for the administration of two injectable media (9 and 10). At the same time, part of a first liquid (9) can be ejected, and this is followed by mixing of the second liquid (10) with the left-over remainder of the first liquid (9) and, finally, expulsion of this mixture. This entire process results from a continuous advance operation by pressure upon a thrust rod (7). In order to obtain this sequence, releasable stop elements (11) which act in the movement direction of the hollow piston (6) in an interim position in the course of its displacement path are provided between the hollow piston (6) and the barrel (2). The hollow piston (6) can thereby be advanced up to an interim position in which these stop elements rest against each other. In this position, excessive engagement is prevented by support of the advancing piston (8) located in the region of stop projections (11a) on the inside of the hollow piston (6). This results in a pressure increase in the hollow piston (6), so that it can burst open at its front (12) at intended breaking points (13). The two liquids (9 and 10) are then mixed and, finally, when the advancing piston (8) has left the region of the stop elements (11) the mixture comprising the first and second liquids (9 and 10) can be completely...
