PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a magnet support member and to obtain a small-sized device which has a sufficient number of magnetized poles by using a sheet magnet which has many magnetized poles and is wound around a cylindrical or columnar magnet support body for the magnetic roll of a developing device. CONSTITUTION:The developing device 1 is provided with a cylindrical sleeve 2 and the magnet support body 3 and the sheet magnet 4 which is a rubber magnet is adhered to the surface of the cylindrical support body 3 to form the magnet roll 6. This sheet magnet 4 is formed by magnetizing many poles in one sheet finely and cutting the sheet to necessary size, and wound around the surface of the support body 3. This magnet roll 6 is rotated around a center shaft 7 and toner 8 in a developer container 5 is attracted by the sheet magnet 4, controlled by a doctor blade 9, and carried toward a recording body 10. Thus, the support body 3 is reduced in weight and the small-sized developing device 1 which has the sufficient number of magnetic poles is obtained.
