<p>A gearbox having five ratios and reverse has a safety device (4) for preventing accidental engagement of reverse starting from a position in which the fifth speed ratio is engaged. The safety device (4) comprises a catch appendage (8) projecting radially from the gearbox control rod (1) by means of which selection and engagement of the ratios is effected, and a locking member in the form of a bush (3) having a shaped axial notch (13) with which the catch appendage (8) co-operates to realise the safety function.</p> |
