PURPOSE:To eliminate the presence of a directional blind sector and to improve the ability to search for a torpedo by generating plural signal couples by shifting one of two acoustic signals from two wave receiving beams by a proper phase quantity, and correlating those signal couples, one by one, and generating plural correlative signals having absolute values. CONSTITUTION:The acoustic signals (acoustic signals from a target) 7 and 8 from the correlative beams are passed through phase shifting parts 901, 902,-90n to generate new couples (701, 801), (702, 802),-(70n, 80n). Then, those couples of signals are multiplied, one by one, by multiplication parts 1001, 1002,-100n, and integrated by integration parts 1101, 1102,...110n, and absolute values are calculated by absolute value parts 1201, 1201,-120n to obtain plural correlative signals 1301, 1302,-130n. Further, those are summed up by an addition part 14 to generate a correlation processing signal 15. Consequently, the blind sector based upon the arrival direction of the acoustic signals from the target, etc., is reduced to improve the ability to search for the torpedo.
