PURPOSE:Thermal energy storing pellets for latent heat, obtained by swelling crosslinked polyethylene pellets having hermetically sealed hollow parts in a dissolving solution of an organic based thermal energy storing material for latent heat and containing stored thermal energy storing material in the hollow parts and increased content thereof. CONSTITUTION:Crosslinked polyethylene pellets 1 having hermetically sealed parts 2 are dipped in a dissolving solution of an organic based thermal energy storing material, e.g. paraffin, fat or oil, etc., and kept at, e.g. 130-180 deg.C. The crosslinked polyethylene pellets 1 absorb the solution of the thermal energy storing material to swell and the thermal energy storing material permeates into the hollow parts 2 and collect therein. Thereby a structure having the outer shell of the polyethylene 3 containing the thermal energy storing material for the latent heat and the interior containing the thermal energy storing material 4 is formed to afford the aimed pellets. The content of the thermal energy storing material is increased t 80vol% for the pellets having 50vol% ratio of the hollow parts. The shape of the pellets is preferably flat to improve the durability, etc. |
