<p>The vane-cell machine has a broadly disc-shaped rotor with roughly-radial slots housing vanes. The casing end-covers almost touch the rotor faces, and there is a small clearance between rotor and driving-spindle. Between rotor (14) faces and casing covers (11,12), pressure-pockets are provided in the form of recesses (37) communicating with the high-pressure side. The recesses are located either at both ends of the rotor, sited between the slots and kidney-shaped or, similarly shaped, in the two covers. Passages, functioning as flow-restrictors, link the recesses to the HP-side.</p> |
