PURPOSE:To achieve ignition property and good stationary combustion condition by a method wherein the side wall of a second fuel storage section, which feeds liquid fuel into an evaporating device together with primary air, is made higher than the side wall of a first fuel storage section. CONSTITUTION:A constant liquid level vessel 5 is formed so as to be divided into two sections of a first fuel storage section 18 which stores fuel at a preset level and a second fuel storage section 19. When fuel is sucked out sufficiently from the second fuel storage section 19 to feed it into a evaporating device 12 together with primary air, ignition is effected and combustion is shifted to stationary combustion condition upon igniting, the level of the liquid in the fuel storage section 19 is moved gradually to a lower by a certain liquid amount than a full level by the consumption of the liquid fuel. The amount of the fuel, which flows from the first fuel storage section 18 into the second fuel storage section 19 through an orifice 20, is balanced with the amount of fuel, sucked out of the fuel storage section 19 and consumed, whereby mixture, by which good stationary combustion condition can be continued, may be obtained.
