AUTOMATIC SELECTION CIRCUIT FOR PICTURE RECORDING MODE

PURPOSE:To evade the picture recording mistakes in a timer reserved recording mode by comparing previously the tape remaining amount with the reserved picture recording time and selecting automatically an optimum picture recording mode. CONSTITUTION:The 1st-3rd comparators 9-11 compare the reserved picture recording time N calculated previously with the tape remaining amounts n1-n3 stored in the 1st-3rd memories 6-8 respectively. Then these comparison outputs are supplied to a mode deciding circuit (mode selection means) 12. In order words, the time N is compared with the amount n1 that can record the remaining tape in an SP mode through the comparator 9. While the time N is compared with the amount n2 that can record the remaining tape in an LP mode through the comparator 10. Finally the comparator 11 compares the time N with the amount n3 that can record the remaining tape in an SLP mode respectively.
