PURPOSE:To securely perform a joining, to improve the operability and reduce the parts cost as well by deforming a dowel by a press after inserting the dowel for calking formed by pressing an excess metal part by a press into the calking hole pierced on the material to be calked. CONSTITUTION:The dowel 10 for calking formed on the material 1 to be worked is inserted into the hole formed on the material 20 to be calked. The back side of the dowel 10 is pressed by a punch 2c, a die 3d is ascended from the lower part to squeeze and deform the dowel 10 and the material 20 to be calked is calked to the material 1 to be worked. In order to perform the locking of the calking part the calking hole is formed in the shape excepting a circle. In this way, the joining strength is improved and operability can be improved.
