PURPOSE:To prevent a side brake positively from being left as applied by actuating automatically a side brake control mechanism when an ignition key is removed, and when the seating of a driver which is to be detected by a seating sensor, is not detected. CONSTITUTION:When a H signal is generated by a seating sensor 15 upon leaving from a seat on the part of a driver, a transistor Tr 16 is turned on for driving a relay X1 so as to send current in the direction C to a motor 11. Subsequently, a spiral spring 10 is contracted by the rotation of the motor 11, thereby displacing a tension roller 7 to the direction B overcoming a spring 12 for swinging a brake lever 1 upward. This causes wires 3 and 4 to be tracked, thereby applying a side brake. On the other hand, when an ignition key is removed from an ignition switch 14 before the driver leaves the seat, the H signal is applied to Tr 16 by a contact 14a in a similar manner, thereby applying the side brake in a similar manner.
