PURPOSE:To introduce siloxane side chains each having at least two functional groups into a vinyl polymer to improve the crosslinkability of this vinyl polymer and its compatibility with other resins, by copolymerizing a polysiloxane macromonomer having at least two free functional groups, obtained by using a specified material with a vinyl monomer. CONSTITUTION:This polysiloxane-containing resin can be obtained by co polymerizing a vinyl monomer with a polysiloxane macromonomer obtained by reacting 70-99.999mol% compound (A) of formula I (wherein R1 is a 1-8C aliphatic hydrocarbon group or a phenyl group and R2, R3 and R4 are each a 1-4C alkoxyl group or a hydroxyl group) with 30-0.001mol% compound (B) of formula II (wherein R5 is H or methyl, R6, R7 and R8 are each a hydroxyl group, a 1-4C alkoxyl or a 1-8C aliphatic hydrocarbon group and n is an integer of 1-6), having at least two free functional groups, per molecule of the formed monomer, selected from among hydroxyl groups and alkoxyl groups and having a number-average MW of 400-100,000.
