PURPOSE:To quickly perform the code conversion by deciding a fundamental character code and an extended character code in an input data string and using a code conversion method to perform the code conversion in synchronism with the input. CONSTITUTION:A KI code is stored in a register 46, and a KO code is stored in a register 48. Decision information resulting from deciding whether transfer data is the EBCDIK code or the Kanji (Chinese character) code is held in a flip flop 44 where appearance of the KI code or the KO code in transfer data is stored. The code conversion operation is performed when data obtained by connecting registers 42 and 41 is not equal to a switching code. |
