NEW MATERIAL:An antibiotic substance LI-F07 having the following physico- chemical properties. Elementary analysis (%); C, 48.11; H, 6.38; N, 11.29. Molecu lar weight (FAB-MS method); 930, 944. Melting point; 224-226 deg.C. Specific rota tory power [alpha]<27>D=+14 deg. (C=0.1, methanol). Slightly soluble in water, methanol and acetonitrile and hardly soluble in chloroform, acetone, ethyl acetate and diethyl ether. Negative to the ninhydrin reaction, Ehrlich reaction, Pauly reac tion, Fehling reaction and Molisch reaction and positive to the biuret reaction. Neutral and colorless power. Constituent amino acids; Aspartic acid, threonine, glutamic acid, alanine, valine and phenylalanine. USE:An antimicrobial agent and carcinostatic agent. PREPARATION:A strain of the genus Bacillus, e.g. Bacillus polymyxa L-1129 strain (FERM P-8560), etc., is cultivated. |
