PURPOSE:To supply a dye onto a gas-permeable film continuously and efficiently and contrive higher image quality, by providing the gas-permeable film in a rotatable disk form. CONSTITUTION:A sublimed or evaporated dye is blown off from a dye blow-off port 14 of a dye container 16 by a fan 9, and is adhered to a disk-shaped gas- permeable film 3. The adhered dye is moved to a printing part by rotating the film 3, and is stopped there. Heating elements 6 are operated to generate heat according to an image signal, thereby generating a dye gas imagewise and causing the gas to penetrate through the film 3 to form an image on a receiving paper 2. Each time one character is printed, the film 3 and the container 16 are moved horizontally, and simultaneously, the film is rotated by one pitch. Thereafter, the heating elements 6 are tempararily separated from the surface of the gas-permeable film, and a printing operation is repeated in the next line. |
