A method of uncovering and draining the preparation limit line (3) at teeth, in conjunction with the taking of impressions, cementing and conservative caries therapy, with the aid of retraction cord (4). The retraction cord is formed of a fluid superabsorbent and swelling material and is inserted between the tooth (1) and the gum tissue (2). The cord is allowed to swell so as to uncover mechanically the preparation limit (3) line and to compress the tissue mechanically, thereby stopping any bleeding. |
