The invention relates to a device allowing a decorative glass diffuser with variable geometry to be made which is self-supporting, impact-resistant and whose hinges are themselves diffusing and decorative. It consists of a central glass panel 1, of two spaced lateral glass panels 4, 5, of two hinges consisting of translucent glass rods 6, 7 placed in front of the device and each connected via the rear to a segment of the central panel and to a segment of one of the lateral panels via an asymmetrical elastic transparent join 8, 9, 10, 11. Elastic brakes placed at the base of the panels ensure holding in the desired position and the impact-resistant characteristic.
