PURPOSE:To quicken luminous operation and prevent a lamp from being broken, by disposing a screen part in the middle of a lamp supporting part and sending a cooled wind so that the cooled wind passes through the screen part toward a non-polarity lamp. CONSTITUTION:A screen part 93 is disposed in the middle of a lamp supporting part 91, that is, between a lamp outer wall part 92 and a fixture 10. A cooled wind is made to flow away from the part, where the lamp supporting part 91 is mounted projecting to the lamp wall part 92, owing to the screen part 93 in existence, while the other portion of the lamp wall part is cooled. Therefore, a coolest-point temperature rises, so that sealed-in materials such as inert gas and mercury are rapidly vaporized at a start of operation to quicken luminous operation. Temperature difference also becomes small over the whole wall part of the lamp 9, and therefore reducing difference in vapor density. And, a discharge kept away from the bulb wall prevents the lamp 9 from being broken.
