The invention relates to a guiding and intermediate piece for rails, sliding on carrying cables, of approximately horizontally movable roofings and awnings which essentially comprise textile or plastic sheeting webs and are fastened between the rails and can be drawn by the same, via the movement of pulling cables, into a roofing position over a corresponding surface area. The guiding and intermediate piece comprises, in accordance with Figures 1 and 2, a cuboidal housing 1 in which there are provided threaded bores 2 for screwing on rails 9 by means of screws 10. The webs for covering a surface area are fastened on said rails. Introduced, by means of a threaded head 8, in a bore 3 provided centrally in the longitudinal direction of the housing 1 is a spindle 4 which projects through a slot 5 located in the centre of the largest housing rectangle. Inserted therein is a pulley 6 which is rotatably mounted on the spindle 4. The pulley may also be fitted on the spindle by means of ball bearings or roller bearings. According to Figure 1, the guiding and intermediate piece rolls on a carrying cable 12, while guided through the free part of the slot 5, via the pulley 6, is a pulling cable 11 for actuating the rails 9. <IMAGE>
