PURPOSE:To simplify setting of a jig and to improve quality and precision, by a method wherein a pipe material is horizontally supported, and the angle of rotation of a rotatable disc face plate supported vertically to the pipe material is numerically controlled. CONSTITUTION:A straight pipe 1 is horizontally placed, and flanges 2a and 2b are assembled to the straight pipe 1. Jigs 3a and 3b are disc plate, forming the references of the phase angle of the flanges 2a and 2b and squareness with a pipe axis and joined with the flanges 2a and 2b by means of pins, and a line interconnecting the centers of the disc face plates forms the axis of a device serving s the reference of the pipe axis. Support rollers 7a and 7b support the two ends of a pipe 1, and are supported by means of elevating jacks 8a and 8b. The angle of rotation of the disc face plate is controllable such that a flange size is coded for decoding, and the decoding is inverted into the numerical code of the angle of rotation, and the angle of rotation of the disc face plate is rotated through numerical control.
