<p>PURPOSE: An automatic range hood control device and an automatic control method using the same are provided to avoid the unnecessary operation of a fan motor by differently applying a control mode classified into a daytime mode and a nighttime mode. CONSTITUTION: An automatic range hood control device comprises a switch unit (100), an illuminance sensing unit, a temperature sensing unit (200), a gas sensing unit (300), a fan motor driving unit (400), and a microprocessor unit (500). A user inputs operational instructions into the switch unit. The illuminance sensing unit senses the ambient brightness of a range hood by using an optical sensor installed on the range hood. The temperature sensing unit senses the ambient temperature of the range hood by using a temperature sensor installed on the range hood. The gas sensing unit senses the ambient gas concentration of the range hood by using a gas sensor installed on the range hood. The fan motor driving unit, which is installed on the range unit, drives a fan discharging indoor air to outside. The microprocessor unit receives signals of the switch unit, the illuminance sensing unit, and the temperature sensing unit or the gas sensing unit, thereby controlling the operation of the fan motor driving unit.
