PURPOSE:To improve long-term stability of a recording state and the recording sensitivity in the stage of reproduction by providing a recording layer which is laminated on a substrate and is formed of a valency effect compd. having 300-800 deg.C m.p. and a a reflective layer which is laminated on the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:This recording medium has the recording layer 5 which is laminated on the substrate 3 and is formed of the valency effect compd. having 300-800 deg.C m.p. and the reflective layer 7 which i laminated on the recording layer 5. The recording layer 7 which is laminated on the recording layer 5. The recording layer 5 is formed of the valency effect compd. which is any among AuSn, AuIn2, BiTc, SnAs, CaSb, and GcTe and the reflective layer 7 is formed of a metal which is any among Cu, Au, and Al. The stable recording state i thereby maintained for a long period of time and the quantity of the reflected light of the irradiated light beam is increased in the stage of reproduction. The recording sensitivity is improved by a multiple interference effect. |
