PURPOSE:To easily attain the demodulation of an MFM data, by deciding whether a synchronizing signal exists in an MFM signal or a data signal when it is received by a processor, and sending out a control signal to a data signal separation circuit corresponding to a decided result. CONSTITUTION:A sync signal is attached on the MFM signal as a signal for synchronizing. After the signal is inputted from an MFM data input port 7, and passes through an AND circuit 11, it is changed to an NRZ signal, and at a serial/parallel converter 14, the NRZ signal is assembled as the signal of eight bits, f 16 bits, then being read in a microprocessor 16. At the microprocessor 16, the data is decided, and when it is sync signal, a data window signal is left as it is, and the data is received successively. When it is not the sync signal, it is decided that a synchronization between the MFM signal, and the data window signal, is not taken, and an inversion instruction signal for the data window signal is inverted from an off-state to an on-state, then it is sent onto an inversion instruction signal line 17.
