PURPOSE:To obtain a device to promote heat transfer accompanied by a small pressure loss in the fluid without reducing the heat transfer promotion performance by constituting a heat transfer promotion device with a spiral plate which is devoid of its central section. CONSTITUTION:A heat transfer promoting device 2 is mounted in the inside of a heat transfer pipe 1. The device 2 is constructed with a spiral plate which is devoid of its central portion. The part to form a circulating flow which contributes mainly to heat transfer promotion is the peripheral section 4 in the spiral plate, and the circulating flow developed by the central portion 3 of the spiral plate does not much contribute to heat transfer promotion. Accordingly if a heat transfer promoting device 2 is formed by a spiral plate devoid of its central portion, the device's heat transfer performance is not reduced. On the other hand if the spiral plate has only the peripheral portion 4 without the central portion 3, the fluid flow resistance becomes smaller and the pressure loss is thereby small. |
