PURPOSE:To analyze ammonia gas with high analytical accuracy, by a method wherein an absorbing solution is preliminarily made acidic by sulfuric acid and, after the air bubbling of the acidic solution, said solution is distilled to recover ammonia. CONSTITUTION:Air bubbling is applied to a specimen solution wherein exhaust gas is absorbed by consisting of an ammonia removing washing bottle 1, ammonia absorbing bottles 2, 3, a silica gel 4, a suction pump 5 and a gas meter 6 to perform a sulfur dioxide expelling operation. Successively the specimen solution is transferred to the distillation flask 7 of an ammonia distillation apparatus and 20% NaOH is dripped from a funnel 8 to make an absorbing solution alkaline. Separately, an Erlenmeyer flask 11 having 0.5% H3BO3 received therein is put in a cooling tank 12 and connected to a connection pipe 10 consisting of rubber and a glass pipe. The flask 7 is placed on a heater 9 and the absorbing solution A is boiled and ammonia in the solution is passed through the connection pipe 10 along with steam to be absorbed by the absorbing solution B. The ammonia analysis of the absorbing solution B is performed according to a JIS method.
