PURPOSE:To increase strength of a liner and to reduce the weight thereof, by a method wherein alloy powder is sprayed against the inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical outer layer for diffusion to form an inner layer, and finish processing is applied on the outer surfaces of the inner and the outer layer to manufacture a cylinder liner. CONSTITUTION:Alloy powder is sprayed against the inner peripheral surface of an outer layer 1 formed by centrifugal-casting a steel to form a diffusion inner layer 2. Machining is applied on inner and outer surfaces 10a and 10b so as to have a given size to complete a two-layer cylinder liner 10. This constitution decreases the thickness and the weight of the liner, and since the inner layer forms a diffusion layer, enables reduction of production of flaw at a boundary between the layers. |
