PURPOSE:To obtain a medium having practicable durability by depositing Si by a sputtering method on a thin magnetic film and further coating a fluorine contg. lubricating agent having an org. functional group thereon. CONSTITUTION:The Si film is formed by the sputtering method on the thin magnetic metallic film of a perpendicular magnetic recording medium formed with said thin film on a nonmagnetic carrier and further the fluorine contg. lubricating agent contg. the org. functional group is coated thereon. More specifically, a CoCr film is formed on a base film consisting of a polyester and thereafter, the Si is deposited thereon by the sputtering method and the fluorine contg. lubricating agent having a carboxyl group is coated thereon. The perpendicular magnetic recording medium having the good durability is thereby obtd. |
