PURPOSE:To uniformly plate band steel by providing a means for detecting the molten metal level in a melting furnace, an air pressure measuring means, and an arithmetic unit where in the results are inputted and calculated to keep the metal level constant. CONSTITUTION:The control device consists of the means 2 for detecting the level of molten metal 21' in the melting furnace 22, a means 4 for detecting the height and position of the melting furnace 22, the means 6 for detecting the air pressure, the arithmetic unit 8 for controlling the level of the molten metal 21' based on the outputs from the means 2, 4, and 6, a control panel 10, and the means 16 for controlling the height and position of the melting furnace. The height of the melting furnace 22 is controlled by the output from the arithmetic unit 8.
