PURPOSE:To improve the wear and heat check resistances of cast iron contg. a network eutectic carbide by heating the cast iron to a specified temp. and holding it. CONSTITUTION:Cast iron contg. a network eutectic carbide is heated to the solidus line temp. - the solidus line temp. + 80 deg.C and held for about 1-100hr. The cast iron is preferably held at the solidus line temp. + 30 deg.C - the solidus line temp. + 50 deg.C for about 5-20hr. By the heat treatment, the shape of the network eutectic carbide is changed and the wear and heat check resistances are improved.
