PURPOSE:To prevent contamination at the inside of a container caused by removed foreign matters, by providing a flexible rubbing member which is contacted with a corona wire, etc., to be cleaned and an insulating supporting member which is provided near to the contacting member and equipped with a magnetic body in the longitudinal direction of an electrifier along its shield case. CONSTITUTION:The cleaner 11 of this invention is composed of an insulating supporting member 22 which is slidable in the longitudinal direction of the shield case 21 of an electrifier along its inner surface, flexible rubbing member 23 which is carried by the supporting member 22 and contacted with a corona wire 25, and magnet 24 provided in the vicinity of the contacting member 23 carried by the member 22. When the wire 25 is cleaned with this cleaner 11, the member 22 is slid in the longitudinal direction along the case 21, then foreign matters adhering to the surface of the wire 25 are wiped away. Since magnetic matters, such as magnetic toner, magnetic carrier, etc., of the wiped-away foreign matters are caught by the magnet 24, the magnetic matters do not fall down into other sections and never make the inside of the electrifier and inside of the copying machine contaminated.
