PURPOSE:To record data into recording media of a number in response to a split number of a picture by splitting the picture into a prescribed ratio, storing the data in a predetermined memory area and outputting the data selectively while being shared to plural picture data recording means recording the data onto the recording media. CONSTITUTION:In dividing a picture 12 equally in an aspect ratio of m:n (m, n are integers longitudinally and laterally), mn-set of split pictures 120 are formed. Picture element data (picture data) of each split picture 120 are stored in a predetermined memory area in response to each split picture (No.1-No.mn) in scanning the picture 12 by a line scanner 10 so as to be stored in a frame memory 16. A video switcher 24 outputs the picture data read from the frame memory 16 based on a control signal outputted from a control circuit 20 selectively to video signal recorders 30-1-30-i sharing the recording of partial pictures in each split pattern while being provided corresponding one to one to each split pattern 120.
