Method for obtaining industrial work from heat, and a heat engine which operates according to this principle. Heat ensures the production or (and) change of state of steam. This steam is intended (e.g. through lifting energy), if possible, to generate technically useful energy (electricity, etc.) exclusively by means of a liquid. Industrially useful energy is obtained from steam with a very good theoretical efficiency with the aid of a liquid. A steam wheel renders it possible to dissipate lifting energy as the kinetic energy of rotation. The steam wheel dips into a liquid and by virtue of its design provides the steam at the circumference with the opportunity of dissipating its lifting energy.
