PURPOSE:To enhance the operability of a printer, by allowing a feed roller to be spaced apart from a platen by a small force by bringing an energizing member in a relaxed state by a change-over member. CONSTITUTION:An energizing member 26 which energizes a feed roller 20 feeding recording paper while pressing the same onto a platen 5 in the direction of the platen 5 is brought into a relax state by a change-over member 25 for allowing the feed roller 20 to contact with and separate from the platen 5 to separate the platen from the feed roller and brought in a tensioned state by the change-over member to press the feed roller to the platen. By this constitution, the feed roller can be separated from the platen by a small force, and not only the operability of a paper feed mechanism but also that of a printer can be enhanced to allow miniaturization and wt. reduction. |
