A bifocal spectacle is specified in which the lower areas of the glasses exhibiting stronger refractive power are turned inward with respect to the upper areas of the glasses exhibiting lower refractive power so that their optical axes intersect at a relatively short distance. This ensures that light rays incident on the eyes from a short distance strike the spectacle glasses at a right angle to the surface of the spectacles. Thus distortions are avoided.
