The punched strip catalyst is fabricated from a material strip suitable for catalysts. The strip runs through a punch machine which punches through it in stressless form over the entire strip width and strip length and then coils it up like a clock spring. In a pipe or exhaust, also usable sequentially, in a similar manner to a screen, the punched strip catalyst, coated or uncoated, can also be used as a screen or mixer.
