REFERENCE SIGNAL GENERATING CIRCUIT FOR REMOVING GHOST

PURPOSE:To remove a ghost delaying more than a 1/2 horizontal period by generating a digital signal string with information used for transmitting high definition television signal as a ghost removal reference signal. CONSTITUTION:A high definition device 2 makes the output of a television signal generating circuit 1 at high definition, a digital signal string generating circuit 5 generates the digital signal string with information attained high definition, and a signal overlap circuit 3 overlaps the television signal attained high definition. A ghost removal device error signal storing generating circuit 13 selects the digital signal string being a reference signal with the aid of the television signal outputted from a transversal filter 11, and generates an error signal string as the difference between corresponding expected signal strings. A tap gain control circuit 12 controls the transversal filter 11 through the use of algorithm such as a least square error method, and minimizes the error signal string.
