Method for synchronising and routing in partially meshed communication networks

A station newly switched on searches for the control channel on which all stations are transmitting control blocks consisting of synchronisation block, master or slave identification and routing table under random control within a predetermined time limit; when it detects the control channel, it locks to the received TDM frame and transmits control blocks with slave identification. If it does not detect the control channel within the time limit, the station newly switched on generates a TDM frame and randomly seizes the control channel for transmitting control blocks with master identification. If it detects a number of different control blocks with master identification, the station newly switched on checks the various control blocks for the extent of their routing tables and accepts the station having the most extensive routing table as master station; to the other stations it issues, after having in each case locked to their TDM frames, the command for stopping their transmissions and subsequent resynchronisation; it then locks to the TDM frame of the accepted master station and transmits control blocks with slave identification.
