PURPOSE:To enable locking corresponding to umbrella length by providing a multi-step locking device for locking an umbrella support member at a plurality of positions in an umbrella stowage device and energizing said member toward the opening of the device. CONSTITUTION:When an umbrella has been pushed against the spring force of a constant pressure spring 76, air in an air chamber is displaced outside via an orifice 47. And when the pushing operation has been stopped with an umbrella grip stowed within an umbrella stowage opening 28, a cylindrical piston 48 as an umbrella support member is pushed back toward said opening 28 due to the force of the constant pressure spring 76, and the tip of a coupling axis 59b is coupled to the v-groove of a heart-shaped cam 58, thereby stopping the operation of the cylinder 48. This operation can be made for each projected part 61. Consequently, the cylindrical piston 48 can be locked at a position corresponding to the extent of the insertion of the umbrella. |
