PURPOSE:To correctly detect temperature by making a part of an envelope of an X-ray tube device surrounding a target, a metal wall and by providing a part located on the back of the target with a photodetection window to be connected to a photodetection means. CONSTITUTION:The central part surrounding a target 6 shall be an envelope 1 made of metal and on both sides of it envelopes 2 and 3 made of glass or ceramic are provided to form an envelope of an X--ray tube device. Further, a part of a metal-made envelope 1 opposing to the back of the target 6, the opposite side of the target 6 facing to a cathode 4, is provided with a through hole 9 to be airtightly sealed with a photodetection window 10 to be connected to a photodetection means 11 such as fibers for a heat sensor. Then, temperature is detected by the information from heat rays and light rays radiated from the target to control the device so as to secure safety. Accordingly, X-rays incident upon the photodetection window 10 is checked to remove their change with the passage of time or the like. Thus the accuracy of detecting temperature can be improved.
