PURPOSE:To obtain a desired sentence structure and to produce a document of the optimum contents by pushing a specific key on a keyboard to display the component elements of sentences, phrases, etc., for each hierarchy and enabling a user to select visually those displayed elements. CONSTITUTION:A memory part 2 stores the sentence component elements and the document data which are sorted in each hierarchy for back-up of production of sentences. When the use of the sentence production back-up function is desired, a function key 1a is pushed and a control part 3 sends a retrieving signal 102 to the part 2 according to the input data 101. Then the part 3 sends a display signal 104 to a display part 4 to instruct the division of a picture and display after receiving the retrieving signal 103 and completing the transfer of the retrieving data 103 corresponding to the data 101. Then the part 4 inputs the signal 104 and displays it in the form of a visible pattern. The part 4 displays a big headline group hierarchy A, a small headline group intermediate hierarchy B and then a hierarchy C of the final sentence component element group respectively. Then a user selects the desired sentences and phrases out of those displayed hierarchies.
