摘要 PURPOSE:To suppress the drop of magnetic flux density acting on a magneto-optical disk and to attain recording and erasing under high magnetic flux density by forming the end face of a magnetic core of a magnetic field generating source on a prescribed converging surface and forming the end face of a magnetic conductive member on a prescribed inclined surface. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic route for supplying current to an exciting coil 6, magnetic flux phi directed in the reverse direction against the original magnetizing direction (y) of a recording film 1a of a magneto-optical disk 1 is impressed from the converging surface 5b of a magnetic core 5 to the recording film 1a and receiving the magnetic flux phi by the end faces 7c, 7d of the magnetic conductive member 7 to return the magnetic flux phi to the magnetic core 5. The magnetic flux phi radiated from the converging surface of the end face 5b of the magnetic core 5 phi is converted based on the shape of the converging surface and passed through an irradiated position P on the recording film 1a of the disk 1 as a parallel magnetic field with high density. When a laser beam modulated by recording information is radiated from an objective lens 3 on the optical head 2 to the irradiated position P under said state, the information is recorded on the position P. Since the magnetic flux phi is returned to the magnetic core through the shortest distance by the magnetic conductive member 7, the dispersion of the magnetic flux into air can be suppressed.
