PURPOSE:To repair a damaged ferrule only by the replacement of an interchangeable plug by fitting the interchangeable plug which incorporates a multicore interchangeable connector ferrule and a sleeve previously to the tip of a basic plug. CONSTITUTION:The interchangeable plug which incorporates the interchangeable connector ferrule 22 and sleeve 2 is coupled with the tip of the basic plug 1 which stores a basic connector ferrule 12 fixed to the optical fiber core B in an optical cable A. Consequently, even if an end surface of the optical connector ferrule is damaged at an actual site by connecting other bodies, etc., the interchangeable connector ferrule 22 and sleeve 26 are replaced at a time to facilitate repairing operation without altering the basic plug 1 at all. Further, an interchangeable connector ferrule 22 corresponding to the basic connector ferrule 12 of the basic plug 1 and a sleeve 26 are put in the interchangeable plug 2 at a time and an adapter function is added to the interchangeable plug 2 to attach and detach the whole body at a time.
