PURPOSE:To upgrade the utilization factor of an active material by specifying the pore size of a porous body, and the relation between the particle size of nickel hydroxide and the pore size of a porous body, and the relation between the respective particle sizes of CoO, beta-Co(OH)2, and alpha-Co(OH)2 and the particle size of nickel hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:The pore size of a porous body shall be 20-100mum; the particle size of nickel hydroxide shall be 1/3 or less of the pore size of the porous body; particle sizes of CoO, beta-Co(OH)2, and alpha-Co(OH)2 shall be 1/2 or less of that of nickel hydroxide. If the pore size of the porous body is 10mum, active material particles do not enter the pores and remain on the surface as excess paste, and come off the surface. When the particle size of nickel hydroxide is 1/3 or less of the pore size and the particle size of cobalt hydroxide is 1/2 or less of that of nickel hydroxide, the best performance can be obtained. |
