PURPOSE:To transfer data in a demand mode by prolonging the active period of a data request signal and reading the next data during this long period. CONSTITUTION:The OR of the ready signal IR of a first in first out (FIFO) register 102 and a signal obtained delaying the ready signal IR by the period during which a read signal DR is active is formed, and the data request signal is not made inactive in an ordinary operation to transfer the data in the demand mode. In this case, when the FIFO register 102 cannot input the data, since the next data is read due to the data request signal DRQ which is not inactive in the ordinary operation, a register 10 is disposed so as not to lose this.
