<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently afterburn particulates, by intermittently heating a particulate filter at a timing according to an engine speed and load. CONSTITUTION:A particulate filter 14 is provided in an exhaust pipe 12, and a heater 16 is provided in the vicinity of the filter 14. Signals from an engine speed sensor 19 and a load sensor 20 are input to a control device 18 to operate a driving circuit at a timing according to an engine speed and load and thereby intermittently heat the filter 14. Accordingly, particulates in the filter may be efficiently afterburnt.</p> |
