PURPOSE:To use a directly-coupled clutch to perform an emergency start when a continuously variable transmission or a start clutch causes a trouble, by providing the directly-coupled slide clutch, connected in the time of directly-coupled driving, in a directly-coupled driving route while the start clutch, connected in the time of continuously variable transmission driving, in a continuously variable transmission route. CONSTITUTION:When a normal start is performed, a start clutch 20 is gradually engaged from a point A, and the start clutch 20, if it reaches a point B, is maintained in a connection condition, performing the action to be transferred from a start control to a speed change control. The speed change control first performs acceleration along a straight line of minimum speed ratio, and if an input speed Ni reaches a target input speed NE, the action is transferred to a speed change region performing a speed change to a high speed ratio side while the target input speed NE is maintained. If the speed change ratio reaches directly-coupled transmission ratio (point D), the action is transferred to directly-coupled driving by disconnecting the start clutch 20 while connecting a directly-coupled clutch 5. when a V belt 15 is damaged and/or the start clutch 20 is in trouble, the start clutch 20 is placed in a disconnected condition in such a manner as to be damaged, and an emergency start control is performed by gradually connecting the directly-coupled clutch 5 to be transferred from the point A to a point B'. |
