PURPOSE:To smooth forward conveyance of a sheet, by a method wherein, when a sheet is loaded on an intermediate tray, it is loaded without making contact with an auxiliary roller, and during the refeed of the sheet, the lowermost sheet is held between the nip formed by the auxiliary roller and a sheet press. CONSTITUTION:Sheets 3' on an intermediate tray 23 are aligned in the direction of width by means of a control guide 29. By rotating an auxiliary roller 30 clockwise by one full turn by means of a clutch mechanism with a gap L between a sheet press 32 and the sheet 3', the lowermost sheet 3' is brought into contact with the auxiliary roller 30. A press force by the sheet press 32 is exerted on the sheet 3', and is held between the nip formed by the auxiliary roller 30 and the sheet press 32 and therefore, a forward conveyance force is exerted on the sheet 3', which is fed between a refeed roller 33 and a separating roller 33'. The refeed roller 33 is rotated in the same direction as the conveying direction of the sheet 3', and the separating roller 33' is rotated counterclockwise, and thereby the sheets 3' in the intermediate tray 23 are separated one by one between the refeed roller 33 and the separating roller 33' for refeed. |
