PURPOSE:To lessen the deterioration of a signal to noise ratio when a positional deviation of a magnetic head arises by forming concentrical grooves at a desired width between recording tracks. CONSTITUTION:For example, an Ni-P layer 4 and Ni-Co magnetic layer 5 are laminated on a substrate 1 consisting of smoothly polished Al, etc., and the concentrical grooves 3 are formed on the layer 5. The grooves 3 may be formed by coating a photoresist 6 on the layer 5 and etching the same or by irradiating laser light to the layer 5. The formation of the grooves 3 to a spiral shape is also possible. The deterioration of the signal to noise ratio when the positional deviation of the head arises is eliminated according to the above-mentioned constitution. Since a lubricating agent can be held in the grooves 3, the breakdown by the contact of the head and disk is prevented for a long period of time. |
